SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA – DECEMBER 7, 2016 –

Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC, (PRT) makers of the patented ePIPE®, Lead-Free Leak-Free™ product line, announced today that ePIPE recently helped more than 40 United States school facilities become compliant with EPA’s lead leaching regulations. Throughout the past year, more schools across the country have been concerned with their drinking water, and ePIPE is helping.
These educational facilities joined the ePIPE LeadSmart™ program, which is the first program of its kind that serves as a comprehensive solution for schools and other buildings bringing harmful lead and copper levels into EPA compliance in the properties’ drinking water systems. The LeadSmart approach begins with a review of possible sources of lead leaching, corrective actions (which includes the application of the patented ePIPE pipe lining process) and, where necessary, replacement of suspected lead contributing fixtures.
“Many people don’t know that lead contributors, such as lead solder in copper piping systems and brass fixtures, can leach lead at levels that exceed the EPA’s cut off levels, making the water dangerous for consumption,” ACE DuraFlo® CEO Larry Gillanders said. “Our goal is to provide multi-faceted education to our clients about lead leaching and lead contributors. We administer water sampling to test a client’s domestic water system for lead, an analysis of the pipe system’s health, remediation recommendations of possible lead contributors and then our team carries out the repairs as required.”

The patented ePIPE Lead-Free, Leak-Free pipe protection process reduces lead and copper leaching to well below the EPA’s cut off levels. Using the ePIPE method, a fast-curing barrier coating is applied to the interior of the pipes, which brings lead and copper leaching to safe levels, while also protecting against pinhole leaks. Compared to a repipe, the ePIPE LeadSmart process is minimally invasive, cost-effective and offers minimal operational downtime in the piping system.
ePIPE suggests that all educational facilities, commercial buildings, industrial structures and residential properties take advantage of the LeadSmart program by contacting PRT.

MARCH 15, 2016 – SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

Pipe Restoration Inc., Technologies, LLC, (PRT), a world-leading pipe lining innovator and manufacturer of the patented, proven ePIPE pipe restoration technology, offers the fastest, 2 hour return to service barrier coating that prevents water pipe leaks, as well as bringing lead leaching into compliance. In honor of the United States’ Environmental Protection Agency’s national Fix a Leak Week and United Nations’ World Water Day on March 22, PRT announces that it is helping to combat the global issue of water conservation and access to clean water with the ePIPE patented leak protection process.

With PRT’s several leak sealing patents and the addition of its latest patent granted by the USPTO, covering the in-place coating of metallic pipes curing the resin in at least one hour, the patented ePIPE technology is proven to be the industry’s fastest and most effective in-place pipe lining process that prevents leaks and greatly reduces lead and metals from leaching into the clean drinking water supply.

“We are constantly innovating to tackle water conservation and lead leaching, thereby enhancing the process of providing clean water to homes and buildings,” ACE DuraFlo CEO Larry Gillanders said. “These are global and national crises. Wasted water through leaks and lead leaching must be addressed at city and national government levels. We are proud to offer a technology that combats both problems, while also being more economical, less disruptive and less destructive than pipe replacements.”

The Flint, MI, water crisis has brought major attention to the cumulative effects of lead exposure, especially in pregnant women and small children. Lead is a dangerous toxin, poisoning drinking water, with medical experts agreeing there is no amount of lead deemed safe for consumption.

Pinhole leaks are one of the leading causes of water loss in the United States. It is estimated that 10 percent of homes have pipe leaks, which contributes to more than 1 trillion gallons of water that leaks from American homes every year. Approximately 1/6 of the U.S.’s clean water is believed to be lost each year due to pipe leaks, including billions of gallons of clean water in Southern California.

PRT’s patented, in-place epoxy lining solution, ePIPE, restores the pipes from the inside and prevents pinhole leaks from occurring. This minimally-invasive method is preferred over traditional pipe replacement techniques, which are extremely expensive, disruptive, destructive, time-consuming and harmful to the environment.

U.S. PATENT MAKES EPIPE THE FASTEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE PIPE LINING PROCESS TO REDUCE LEAD LEACHING AND SAVE CITIES LIKE FLINT

MARCH 1, 2016 – SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA – Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC, (PRT), a world-leading pipe lining innovator and manufacturer, announced today that it has been awarded its 14th U.S. patent, Patent #9273815, titled, “Process for Coating the Interior Surface of Water Service Lines.” Granted by the USPTO, this patent covers the in-place coating of metallic pipes, including lead, copper and steel pipes, curing the resin in at least one hour. ePIPE® in-place lining technology reduces lead leaching from lead pipes and other in-line lead contributors, such as lead solder from leaching into the drinking water supply. Using the ePIPE process, lead levels are reduced to well below the World Health Organization’s (WHO) cut-off guidelines for lead, at 10 ug/l (10ppb). The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) cut-off levels for lead, at 15 ug/l (15ppb), are 50 percent higher than recommended by the World Health Organization.

The ePIPE technology is completed to pipes “in-place,” reducing the need for excessive digging or tearing up roads or buildings’ foundation or walls. ePIPE is a long-term solution that does not require the addition of expensive and questionable water treatment chemicals.

“Relying on chemical treatment of the drinking water and getting it wrong was a major contributor to the Flint poison pipe problem,” Pipe Restoration Technologies and ACE DuraFlo® CEO Larry Gillanders said. “Hands down, we offer the best solution to protect drinking water from lead leaching.”

ePIPE technology is the industry’s fastest and most effective in-place pipe lining process preventing leaks and greatly reducing lead and metals from leaching into the drinking water supply.

The Flint, MI, water crisis has brought major attention to the cumulative effects of lead consumption, especially in pregnant women and small children. Lead is a dangerous toxin, poisoning drinking water, with medical experts agreeing there is no amount of lead deemed safe for consumption. Lead exposure can impair a child’s IQ and cognitive function and can lead to behavioral problems. High-profile environmental activists, such as Erin Brockovich and Former First Lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton, are getting involved in raising awareness and attempting to find a solution.

“We are already providing our ePIPE technology as a solution to lead leaching in England and we have already provided the ePIPE solution to thousands of properties in the U.S.,” said Gillanders. “We are prepared to help cities like Flint to bring their water pipes into lead leaching compliance, using this efficient, effective and proven solution. With our licensed network of plumbing companies across the country that use ePIPE, we are asking all cities and building owners who are dealing with lead compliance issues to contact us so that we can protect their drinking water. Our non-invasive epoxy coating system can bring lead contaminated water systems into compliance within hours, without causing destruction or closing down streets. This is a win-win for cities and their citizens.”

Lead service pipes are not the only contributor to lead in drinking water.  Lead solder, which was used on copper piping systems is a lead contributor and as seen recently in the Hong Kong Lead Crisis, can elevate lead levels from 10 to 60 times the allowable limit.  Prior to 1988, lead solder was a commonly installed material used with the installation of copper piping systems in the U.S. and Canada.

JANUARY 19, 2016 – SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA

Pipe Restoration Technologies (PRT), a world-leading pipe lining innovator and manufacturer, announced today that its patented ePIPE® epoxy coating technology has been provided as a positive solution to solve Hong Kong’s toxic lead contamination of parts of its clean water distribution system. This decision prompted the deployment of an ePIPE team in Hong Kong as the newest ePIPE licensee.

Hong Kong made international headlines in 2015 when it was discovered that approximately 30,000 units of public housing, an undisclosed number of private houses and schools showed excessively dangerous levels of lead in the drinking water when tested at the tap. These tests showed that lead levels ranged from 15 to 60 times the limit deemed safe by the government (10 ug/l).

The Hong Kong government immediately searched for solutions to bring the harmful lead leaching process into compliance. It was commonly reported that Hong Kong’s Housing Chief said in November that it would take more than a year to replace all of the drinking water pipes that were causing the lead contamination.
“A government cannot afford to wait years to solve a lead contamination crisis, especially when there is a global public outcry for an immediate fix,” Pipe Restoration Technologies CEO Larry Gillanders said. “Lead is a dangerous toxin and no amount of lead is safe for human consumption. Hong Kong’s Water Supplies Department reached out to their construction contractors for an answer, and they suggested the ePIPE in-place pipe lining technology.”

Gillanders traveled to Hong Kong to meet with the water department and its construction contractors and discuss the ePIPE technology and how it could solve the region’s lead contamination problems. The ePIPE process creates a protective epoxy barrier coating within water pipe systems that prevents water from touching the pipes, preventing lead leaching. Mock ups were created and a demo was conducted in Hong Kong. A Hong Kong ePIPE licensee was recently created and stocked with a trained crew and the latest equipment.

Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC, makers of the ePIPE pipe restoration product line, announced today that it has been granted its 10th US patent, #8696823, which covers methods used in abrasive cleaning inside small diameter pipes, 2″ ID and smaller, such as water supply pipes.

This patent focuses on methods where intermittent bursts of abrasive particles are injected into the piping system for cleaning the interior walls of the pipes reducing burrs and interior lips which can cause unnecessary and unwanted erosion inside the pipe. Such erosion can lead to early wear and potential leaks such as those commonly referred to as slab leaks, when the leak occurs under a concrete slab. This patented process gives the operator greater control and efficiencies when compared to alternative methods.

ePIPE CEO, Larry Gillanders commented: “We recently rolled out a 2 hour return to service “in-place” lining material certified by NSF in the US, Belgaqua in Belgium, SABS in South Africa and by the UK’s Secretary of State (Drinking Water Inspectorate) for use in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland for use in protecting drinking water systems.”

EPIPE® LEAD PIPE REMEDIATION TECHNOLOGY APPROVED BY UK’S SECRETARY OF STATE

UK’s Secretary of State has approved the use of ePIPE, a high performing epoxy resin lining developed by Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC, for in-situ application to public water supplies. Water pipes having an internal bore, as small as 12mm (1/2”), can be restored, in-place, with a 2 hour ready to return to service time using the patented ePIPE system.

In December 2013 the EU will adopt the new World Health Organization (WHO) quality standard for lead in drinking water of 10 μg/l (10 ppb). The ePIPE lining and system of application provides an effective answer to water pipe communication or supply line replacement for either lead or leakage programmes. Lining the entire service supply lines from the water main to the customers tap, the ePIPE process provides a more comprehensive and robust solution to tackling the dissolved lead issue within the drinking water supply.

ePIPE Lead-Free, Leak-Free™ Pipe Protection is the first lining material and process of its kind to meet the stringent requirements of both UK’s Water Regulatory Advisory Scheme (WRAS) and the UK’s Drinking Water Regulation 31 program.

It is estimated that some 8 to 10 million properties in the UK may have lead pipes, and that overall 25% of properties in the EU may have lead pipes, affecting an estimated 120 million people in the EU. It is estimated that some 38 million properties in the US are affected by lead in piping systems.

LAGUNA NIGUEL – Many Southern California homeowners have experienced the plague of pinhole leaks in their copper piping systems.  Traditional methods of leak repair are destructive, can cost home owners thousands of dollars, and do not provide any permanent relief.

Recently, several high profile home builders in California have taken legal action in an effort to resolve the costs associated with the problem of early pipe failure.  The focus of the case was changes in water treatment methods, water chemistry and the water companies’ involvement.  The Orange County Register recently reported that some of the changes made by water companies to improve the quality of the drinking water may be contributing the epidemic of pinhole leaks in copper pipes.  To read the full article, click here.

One Home Owners Association in Laguna Niguel has taken a proactive approach, and chosen the industry leader, ePIPE® to protect their pipes before the leaky pipe problem spread even further in their community.  ePIPE is a patented in-place pipe restoration technology, that restores and protects pipes, in-place.

The HOA consists of 105 individual townhome style residences. The HOA was initially spending in excess of $10,000 per month in costs associated with repairing slab leaks using traditional cut up and repair methods. With ePIPE, the homeowners can now rest assured that their pipes are protected from future corrosion and leaks.

ePIPE in-place pipe restoration is the modern solution for prevention of leaking and failing piping systems.
