ePIPE, 2 hour cure resin, approved by NSF std 61.5 to commercial hot standards
ePIPE, a hydrophobic epoxy based protective barrier coating, was recently approved by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) to their Standard NSF 61.5 Immediate Return to Service testing for Commercial Hot water exposure, with a 2 hour cure for use in applications in potable water pipes ½” and larger, applied thickness up to 120 mils. NSF, commercial hot water criteria covers both cold and hot water exposure up to 180°F/82°C.
In addition to the NSF approval, the 2 hour return to service ePIPE product is also approved in the UK, Belgium, Spain and South Africa. In the UK the ePIPE product is approved under both the WRAS and reg 31 for use in both private and public water systems. Product roll out in other jurisdictions is ongoing.
In all these jurisdictions, ePIPE is the only 2 hour cure epoxy based protective barrier coating approved for application in drinking water pipes, ½” and larger.
Our prime objective in the development of this product was to deliver a product and a system of application meeting both water regulators and customer demands for minimal interruption to water service while meeting all the required health criteria when working with potable water systems.
ePIPE projects can now be staged to minimize water shut downs and depending on the project scope, many ePIPE projects can now be completed in a matter of hours, rather than days.
