ePIPE team awarded European patent for relining and in-place leak sealing of pipes

Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC, makers of the ePIPE® product line, announced today that it has been granted European patent, EP 2099581, for methods and systems for relining and sealing piping systems, in-place.

“This patent helps solidify the global reputation of our company and our ePIPE brand. Our team has once again proven its ability to invent responsive technologies aimed at the pipe rehabilitation industry. Water loss through leaks in supply pipes and the delivery of wholesome water in light of the new EU regulations covering lead leaching were important drivers in developing this technology” said Larry Gillanders, CEO, Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC (PRT).

This latest patent adds to PRT’s expanding patent portfolio in which it has patent coverage in the US, Canada and Europe.

Gillanders added: “We recently added a 2 hour return to service “in-place” lining material, NSF 61 approved in the US, and by the UK’s Secretary of State (Drinking Water Inspectorate) for use in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland for use in protecting drinking water systems. In the UK, ePIPE technology has been applied to service line projects as well as in-building services where leaks and lead leaching were of a concern.

Recently, ePIPE technology was named winner in ‘Best Innovation Adopted’ Category at UK Energy Innovation Awards for developments in protecting natural gas lines and the Spanish ePIPE team was awarded 2nd place in the ‘Selected Products’ category at the Construmat Fair for Innovation and Sustainability in Barcelona.

In Canada, Mr. Gillanders is a qualified nominee for the 2013 Manning Awards for Innovation. The ACE DuraFlo®, ePIPE® team has been twice nominated for the US National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
