ePIPE team awarded U.S systems patent for barrier coating corrosion control methods and systems for interior piping systems

Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC, (PRT) makers of the ePIPE product line, announced today that it has been granted its 12th US patent, #8887660 for its ePIPE System, coating and sealing inside piping systems using a barrier coating leak sealant.

This patent covers methods and process steps for mapping, cleaning and providing barrier coatings to interior walls of piping systems. Pipes can be cleaned in one single pass by dry particulates forced by air, and the pipes coated in one single pass. Pipes can be protected from water corrosion and lead leaching, improving water quality, water flow and sealing leaks in-place. Pipes from 1/2″ up to 6″ are treatable using the patented ePIPE system and materials. Potable water lines, natural gas lines, HVAC, drains, and fire sprinkler systems in homes, apartments, high-rise hotel/resorts, office towers, high-rise apartment, condominiums and schools, can be treated.

This latest patent demonstrates PRT’s commitment to product development and adds to its expanding patent portfolio with patent coverage in the US, Canada and Europe.

The ePIPE 2 hour return to service “in-place” lining material is approved by NSF in the US, Belgaqua in Belgium, OTEC in Spain, SABS in South Africa, UK’s WRAS and the UK’s Secretary of State for use with public water systems in the UK. ePIPE has an added benefit for both applicators and users, as pipes can be restored in-place with minimal down time.
