Problem
With an estimated water loss of 3500 litres per day through leaking pipes, the cost of maintaining the pool was forcing the owner to shut it down during one of the hottest English summers on record. Even worse the traditional dig and fix option was uneconomical and would have resulted in the pool still being out of service well into the autumn.
Solution
Pipe Restoration Services were tasked with repairing the leaking pipes, in-place using ePIPE’s patented technology. Restoration steps included: 1) Pressure tests identified leaks on the skimmer and return pipes. 2) Isolation of the leaking pipes. 3) Drain, dry and prepare the pipe work for the ePIPE barrier /leak sealant coating. 4) Application of the barrier/leak sealant coating into each pipe section. 5) After a short curing process of 2 hours, a pressure test was applied. Result: no loss of pressure, leaks sealed. 6) Return the pool to service This project was completed in a 1½ days, no excavations required.
