The Problem:

The Vista Del Lido, built in 1960, was the first bay front high-rise building approved in the City of Newport Beach.  Exceptional maintenance has kept the exterior of this charming 40-unit condominium building looking as good as the day it was built, however the 48 year old plumbing infrastructure was beginning to show its age. The building’s copper water pipes were experiencing an increasing amount of pinhole leaks and weekly repairs were becoming commonplace.  Due to the lack of individual shut-off valves, all the residents were inconvenienced with intermittent water shut-downs while leaking pipes were repaired.

The Solution:

The Vista Del Lido building superintendent, Skip Smith, contacted ACE DuraFlo Pipe Restoration, Inc. after a sterling recommendation from the plumbing contractor who was most familiar with the 48-year old building.  After preliminary meetings with Skip Smith and ADF personnel to gain an overall understanding of the structure and plumbing layout, a presentation about ePIPE was given to the owner-residents which outlined the process and it’s benefits. One huge advantage of the process was the installation of a series of shut off valves which would allow the building’s water to be shut down in sections. The project was completed in less than seven weeks with little to no impact on the residents. Skip Smith said, “After the ePIPE installation, residents could hardly tell that ACE DuraFlo had been there.” He also stated that “ePIPE fixed the problem and upgraded the property, so homeowners will be rewarded with peace of mind and a benefit of increased resale value.”
