Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC (PRT) announced that it has been awarded U.S. Patent #8,399,813 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The patent focuses on the development of a novel portable heating apparatus used as part of the patented ePIPE® process for in-place restoration of small diameter piping systems.
The ePIPE process is designed to restore pipes from the inside, helping reduce disruption compared to traditional pipe replacement methods. This patent adds to PRT’s growing intellectual property portfolio supporting innovative pipe restoration and protective barrier coating technologies.
“Our research and development team are proud of our ongoing innovation program and this accomplishment, this being our 8th US Patent. Focusing on commercializing smart innovative green solutions is part of our philosophy. This patent, added to our existing and evolving portfolio of patents and IP supports us in this pursuit”, said Larry Gillanders, CEO.
In the United States, Pipe Restoration Technologies licenses ePIPE technology programs through ACE DuraFlo Systems, LLC.
The ACE DuraFlo®, ePIPE® team has also been recognized for its innovation, having been twice nominated for the U.S. National Medal of Technology and Innovation. In Canada, Mr. Gillanders was a qualified nominee for the 2013 Manning Awards for Innovation.
U.S. Patent #8,399,813 covers a portable heating apparatus used in connection with the ePIPE® in-place pipe restoration process. The technology supports restoration work on small diameter piping systems without requiring full pipe replacement.
This patent reflects Pipe Restoration Technologies’ continued investment in research and development for in-place pipe restoration. By advancing portable heating technology for pipe lining applications, PRT strengthens its ability to support efficient, less disruptive solutions for restoring existing piping systems.
