Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC (PRT) has been awarded US Patent #8895905 by the US Patent Office for innovations related to the patented ePIPE in-place pipe restoration process.
The patent focuses on the development of a portable heating apparatus and related methods used in the restoration of small-diameter piping systems. This technology supports the ePIPE process by helping improve efficiency during in-place pipe lining projects.
Developing a portable heat source that can be safely used inside buildings and near pipes being lined in place has long been a challenge for the pipe restoration industry. Traditional heating methods often relied on expensive heat generators that could not be placed indoors or close to the work area.
As a result, contractors could face added energy loss, reduced efficiency, and higher operating costs during pipe lining projects.
The newly patented portable heating technology is designed to help address those challenges by supporting a more efficient restoration process for small-diameter piping systems.
The portable heating apparatus is part of the broader ePIPE technology platform, which is used for in-place leak protection, pipe lining, and helping reduce lead leaching in applicable potable water systems.
“Our research and development team are proud of our ongoing innovation program and this accomplishment, this being our 13th US Patent in our pipe lining program. Added to our 2 hour cure resin, approved for use with potable water systems, this latest improvement compliments the overall ePIPE opportunity. “Projects involving ePIPE lining for in-place leak protection or prevention of lead leaching can be accomplished in a matter of hours rather than days, ”said Larry Gillanders, CEO.
This patent adds to PRT’s growing portfolio of pipe lining innovations and reflects the company’s continued focus on developing practical solutions for restoring piping systems without traditional pipe replacement.
By improving the tools and methods used in the ePIPE process, PRT continues to support faster, less disruptive pipe restoration options for buildings, potable water systems, and small-diameter piping applications.
